John Bowden married Peggy Webb in 1744 in Virginia. They had twelve children.

Michael Bowden (ca.1652-1740), possibly the son of Samuel Bowden at Gloucester, Massachusetts, lived in Topsfield, Massachusetts in 1668, married Sarah Nourse in 1669, and later moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts. Descendants lived in New England, New York and elsewhere.

Enoch Hutchings (d.1698) married Mary Stevenson (b.1651) in 1667, and lived in Spruce Creek, Kittery, Maine. Descendants lived in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and elsewhere.
