William Boynton (1606-1686) was born in Knapton, England and married Elizabeth Jackson in Salem, Massachusetts. He died in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Some descendants changed their name to "Byington" ca. 1696 when moving to Connecticut. Descendants lived in New York, Ohio, Utah, Saskatchewan, Alberta, North Dakota, Washington, Oregon, and elsewhere.
