James Daughdrill (1740-1806) was probably born in Ireland. He arrived in America in 1770 and by 1774 settled in Bertie Co., North Carolina. He enlisted in the Continental Forces on 20 July 1778. He was the father of four children. Descendants lived primarily in North Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and elsewhere.
