Hans Jacob Keller (1706-1794) was born at Rothenflue, Canton Basel, Switzerland. He and his wife, Elizabeth Imhoof (d. 1787) had at least six children, 1729-ca. 1740. The family immigrated to America in 1736 and settled in the Cocalico Valley, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Jacob and Elizabeth are buried in the cemetery of the Ephrata Cloister, Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Kansas and elsewhere.
