Seymour Brunson was born in New York in 1798. He served with his father and brother in the War of 1812. He married Harriet Gould about 1823 and they were the parents of at least five children. They joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ohio in 1831 and then followed the Saints west even after Seymour's death in Nauvoo in 1840. Roger Brownson (1576-1635) was born in Earl's Colne, Essex, England and married Mary Underwood. Roger was a descendant of John Brownson (1540-1623) of Earl's Colne. Roger and Mary were the parents of eight children, three of whom immigrated to Connecticut in about 1635. Edmond Cook was born in 1798 in New Hartford, Connecticut to Gurdon Wadsworth Cook and Lucy Gilbert. Edmond died in 1869 in Newburg, Michigan. His wife, Amanda Orilla Brunson was born in 1805 in Orwell, Vermont to Reuben Brunson and Sarah Clark. Amanda died in 1849 in Copley, Ohio.
