Sidney Augustus Bull was born in 1847 on a farm southeast of Harvard, Massachusetts, the son of Sidney Haskell Bull (1806-1889) and Mercy Whitcomb Sawyer Bull (d. 1901), and a descendant of Captain Thomas Bull (1606-1684). He married Luella Meserve Cann (1859- 1936) of Billerica, Massachusetts, in 1885. They had three children, 1888-1892. Children lived in Massachusetts.
