Jorg or Georg Burckhardt was born in Germany. He married Appolonia Meyer before 1649. They had one child of record. Their great-grandson, Johannes Burcket/Burckhardt (born 1708) and his wife, Katrina Herbert, immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1767, having been preceded in 1740 by their son, Johan Dedrick Burcket. Many descendants remain in Pennsylvania; others reside throughout the United States. Forty-five variant spellings of the surname are given.

George Jacob Burkhardt (1818-1896) and his family immigrated in 1847 from Dreitsheim, Württemberg, Germany to Columbus, Ohio, and one of the children was George H.A. Burkhardt (1845-1922). The family moved in 1850 to Noble township, Mercer (later Auglaize) County, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, California and elsewhere.

Rev. George Schmitt (1809-1882) was born in Muhlhausen, Alsace, Germany. His family immigrated to the U.S. in 1828 and he eventually settled in Wilmot Township, Ontario. He married Salome Becker in 1831. His son Jacob (1845-1925) remained in Wilmot Township and married Magdelena Snyder and later Catherine Shantz.

Jakob Brosz was born in Alt-Posttal, Bessarabia, Russia September 12, 1868. His parents were Jakob Brosz and Wilhelmina Hoff. They immigrated to the United States in 1880 and settled in Tripp, South Dakota. He married Margaretha Mayer, who was born in Kassel, South Russia in 1870, in 1888. They had five children. They both died in 1899 in North Dakota. Descendants and relatives lived in South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Washington, California.

Anna Julianna Boos, daughter of George Peter Boos and Anna Katerina Emma Lenhardt, was born in 1836 in Uhler, Koblenz, Germany. She married Gottfried Mueller (1816-1869) in 1858 in Herman, Wisconsin. They had eight children. She married Christian Frederick Bunge (1843-1933) in 1869 in Schleswig, Wisconsin. They had three children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Wisconsin.
