William Burns was born ca. 1755, probably in Henry County, Virginia. He served in the Revolutionary War from Virginia. He and his wife had at least eleven children. He died after 1841 at Clay County Kentucky. His son, Wiley, was born ca. 1800 in North Carolina. He married Mary (Polly) Baker in Clay County, Kentucky, in 1821. They had twelve children, 1822-1845. James Stephenson was born November 4,1749 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of James and Jane (Buchanan) Stephenson. He died August 15, 1810 and is buried at Shilo Cemetery in Nicholas County, Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Caldwell, December 25, 1781.
