Jacobus Jansz and his wife, Jannetje, emigrated from Holland and settled at Albany, New York, sometime before 1684. The family migrated to Essex County, New Jersey, before 1700. Their great grandson, Henrick Jacobus (ca. 1752-after 1810), son of Symon and Henrickje Bartholf Jacobus, was probably born at Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Description
Omar Ruskin Burns, son of Samuel Newton Burns (1850-1931) and Catherine Mahala Wheeler (1867-1911), was born in 1885 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He married Clara Edith Gockel (1882-1935), daughter of Thomas Ramsey Gockel and Rose Morgan, in 1913. He died in 1971 in Anniston, Alabama. They had one son, Francis Ramsey Burns. He married Mary Patton Newell Garrett (1881-1966), widow of Henry Oliver Garrett, in 1937.
