Ellis Emmanuel Jones (1854/1856-1924) immigrated from Wales to Randolph, Wisconsin about 1872, later moving to Chicago, Illinois, where he married Ellen Jane Evans in 1887, settling at Ipswich, South Dakota. Jonas Cattell was born about 1690 in New Jersey. He married Mary Pearce, the daughter of James Pearce, in 1714. Jonas was a blacksmith and a practicing quaker. Their children were James, Hannah, Jonas, William and another unidentified son. After Mary's death Jonas married Mary Ogborne Engle. Their children were Robert, John, Mary, Hannah and Jane.
