Nathaniel Carswell (ca. 1720-1807), of Deerfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts married Esther Henry (ca. 1736-1815) 1753 at Deerfield. She was of Coleraine, Mass. Family moved from Marlborough to Coleraine, Mass. in 1772 and in 1778 to New Perth (Salem), Camden, New York. They had twelve children. Descendants live in Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and elsewhere. Sometimes the spelling Caswell is being used in parentheses.

William Williams (1836-1923) was born in Gloucestershire, England to John Williams and Elizabeth Gumery. In 1859 he married Charlotte Payne and they became the parents of eight children. They immigrated to New Zealand in Hawkes Bay and later Rissington. After Charlotte's death in 1876, he married Mary Ann Stevens and they became the parents of nine children. Descendants live in New Zealand and Australia.

Alexander Carswell (b.1733/1734), of Scottish lineage, married Isabella Brown about 1754, and in 1773 they immigrated from Ireland to Savannah, Georgia, settling later in Franklin County, Georgia. Descendants lived in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere. Includes many ancestors of the Carswell and Brown families in Scotland and England.
