James Clemens Jr. (1791-1878) was born in Danville, Kentucky, son of Jeremiah Clemens. Jeremiah was born in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1763 and moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1774. John Cates Sr. (1753-1827?) came to Jefferson County, Tennessee from Orange County, North Carolina in 1782; he was married twice and was the ancestor of many Tennessee families surnamed Cates.
Colonel William Parker settled in Sugar Creek Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania in 1798; he was married to Mary Moore and they had five children.
