John Thomas Chambers, born 1760 in Virginia, married Margaret Feamster, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, in 1786. They moved to Madison County, Kentucky, shortly after their marriage. Captain James Bratton, son of Captain James and Ann McFarland Dunlap Bratton of Augusta County, Virginia, was a captain of the Augusta Militia at the battle of Guilford County House in North Carolina in 1781.
