Description
Melton Meek grew up in Oklahoma during the first half of the twentieth century. He married and raised a family and practiced medicine for many years. He began collecting material on his ancestral lines which broadened into almost a general collection of materials on some Southern families back to colonial times. Materials included come from all southern states and other United States and represent many individual surnames.

William Emanuel Chappell, son of Emanuel Chappell and Ann Harris, was born in 1835 in Berrynarbour, Devonshire, England. He married Hannah Lake (1837-1928), daughter of William Lake and Emma Court, in 1856. They had nine children. He died in 1907 in Coalville, Utah.
