He emigrated in 1877 and settled in Utah. He married Harriet Elise Anderson, daughter of Eric Anderson and Inger Marie Tode, in 1885 in Logan, Utah. They had seven children.

Autobiography of Laurel Washburn Christiansen with additional information added by her family. Laurel was born April 26, 1939 in Richfield, Utah to Tyrus Elmo Washburn and Mirian Kathryn Madsen. She married John Orrock Christiansen in 1962 in the St. George Temple. They lived in Beaver, Utah where they raised four sons as well as twelve foster children. Laurel died May 23, 1998 of cancer in Beaver, Utah.

He married Elna Magnusdotter-Stark (1856-1935), daughter of Magnus Martensson-Stark and Elsa Nilsdotter of Saxtorp, Malmohus, Sweden, in 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had nine children.

He married Ingrid Maria Amalie Paulsen (1888-1963), daughter of Paul Andreas Paulsen (1854-1898) and Karen Mikkelborg Ellingsen (1845-1938), in 1906. He died in 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jordan Brady (1843-1934) was born in Nauvoo, Illinois to Lindsay Anderson and Elizabeth Ann Hendrickson Brady. In 1850 he traveled with his family to Utah.
