Jens Christian Jensen was born 21 January 1849 in Renden, Torslev, Denmark. His parents were Christian Jensen and Kirsten Andersen. He emigrated in 1869. He married Dorthea Marie Christine Sorensen, daughter of Soren Meiling Sorensen and Else Kirstine Hansdatter, 7 August 1871 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had nine children. Jens died 15 March 1931 in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
