Henry Rupe was born in about 1765, probably in Germany. He married Catherine Barbara Null in about 1782 in Maryland. She was born in 1768 in the Netherlands. They had fourteen children. Henry died in 1845 in Montgomery County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Texas, Utah and elsewhere.

Frederick Emmert was born 16 June 1850 in Kentucky. His mother was Fredricka Schick. His father and two brothers went to fight in the Civil War and never returned home. Frederick married Catherine Roggensuess (1852-1916) 25 December 1870 in Indiana. They had fourteen children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Indiana.
