John Mills Whitaker was born in Utah in 1863. His parents were among the early Latter-day Saint pioneers settling in Davis county. He married Ida Oakley Taylor, one of the daughters of John Taylor and they were the parents of nine children. She spent many years in church service and biographical material on him is given in this volume written by his son. Descendants continue to live in Utah, and elsewhere throughout the west.
