Description
John Upham (1597/1600-1681) emigrated in 1635 from England to Weymouth, Massachusetts, and later moved to Malden, Massachusetts. He married twice (once in England), and all the children were with the first wife. Sylvanus Upham (1788-1830), direct descendant in the sixth generation, moved to Castine, Maine and married Mary Avery in 1802. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, Illinois, California, Washington and elsewhere.

John Estes, Jr. (d.1824) married Elizabeth Chisum, and moved from Carolina County, Virginia to Logan County, Kentucky. One of their children was Chism Estes (1774-1829), who married Mary Jordan and moved to Gallatin (now Saline) County, Illinois. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, California and elsewhere.
