Capt. Thomas Clagett, son of Col. Edward Clagett of London, immigrated to America in 1671 and settled in Clavert County, Maryland. He married twice and was the father of eight children. He died in 1703. Record chiefly follows line of descent to Henry Clagett (d. 1778) of Montgomery County, Maryland, and his children. Alexander Beall was baptized 11 October 1649 in St. Andrews Parish, Fifeshire, Scotland. He was the second son of Alexander Beall and Margaret Ramsay. He immigrated and settled in what became Prince George's County, Maryland. His first wife's name is unknown. His second wife was Elizabeth Buckerfield, who died before 1743. Alexander died about 1744 in Prince George's County, Maryland.

John Higgins was born in about 1709. He married Sarah Magruder and had two known children, Ann and James. James was born 17 November 1733 in Prince George's County, Maryland. He married Luraner Becraft, daughter of Benjamin Becraft and Deborah, 11 November 1760. They had ten children. James died in 1816. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland.
