Josiah Martin (1845-1918), son of David Martin and Rebecca, was born in Waterloo County, Ontario.. He married Sarah Clemmer (1848-1921), daughter of Abram Clemmer and Lydia, in 1868. In 1888 Josiah moved his family to Osceola County, Iowa. A group from Ontario, who broke with the Wishler Mennonite Church settled there and developed farms in the area.
