John Pepper was born 25 June 1783 in Fauquier County, Virginia. His parents were Samuel Pepper and Katherine Amelia Connor. He married Elizabeth Duvall 15 March 1807 in Mason County, Kentucky. They had nine children. He died in 1856 in Platte County, Missouri. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri and Kansas.
