John Coats, Jr. was born in 1771 in Stonington, Connecticut to John Coats, Sr. and Elizabeth Stewart. He married Rebeccah Brown. They had four children born between 1795 and 1803. In 1799 they moved to Pharsalia, New York. Rebeccah died in 1807. A few months later, John married Lucy Peabody (d. 1857). They had seven children. John Auchincloss (1810-1876) was married to Elizabeth Buck (1816-1902) in 1835. They lived in New York City and Newport, Rhode Island. John was the son of Hugh Auchincloss (1780-1855) who came from Scotland in 1803 to New York City. He married Ann Anthony Stuart of Philadelphia in 1806.

John Shrigley lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, ca. 1712. His son, John Shrigley, Jr., is believed to be the ancestor of the Shrigleys and Srygleys listed in this work.

James Ramsey (b.ca.1778) moved from South Carolina to Habersham County, Georgia during or before 1850. Thomas Ramsey (1773-1845) moved from Mechlenburg County, North Carolina to Maury County, Tennessee. Descendants lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, California and elsewhere.
