Christopher Kauffeldt (born 1691), a son of Elias and Barbara Elizabeth Kauffeldt, was born Johann Christoph Kauffeldt in Germany. He married Anna Sara Degen (born 1700) a daughter of Hans Michael Dillman Degen, in 1719. They had nine children, three of whom were born in Germany before the family immigrated to America in 1738. Descendants live in Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, and several other states.
