Jean Poirier (ca.1626-ca.1654) immigrated from France to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and married Jeanne Chabrat. André Poirier (ca.1793- 1869), direct descendant in the seventh generation, lived in Chéticamp, Inverness County (part of Cape Breton Island), Nova Scotia, and married twice. Descendants and relatives lived in Nova Scotia and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Massachusetts and elsewhere in the United States.

Chiefly descendants of Archibald McKaughan. Archibald McKaughan was born ca. 1715 in County Antrim, Ireland. He married Rebecca Boyd, ca. 1833. They had four children. The two boys were born in Ireland, and immigrated to America with their parents in 1747. The family settled in Pennsylvania, where two daughters were born. Archibald McKaughan (b. 1735) and Hugh McKaughan (1743-after 1820) were both soldiers in the Revolutionary War and married in Pennsylvania....

Jonathan Tipton was born 5 December 1800 in Jefferson County, Ohio. His parents were Sylvester Tipton (1762-1845) and Mary Baring. He married Eleanor Reed 23 September 1819 in Coshocton County, Ohio. They had nine children. Jonathan died 22 August 1875 in Milan, Missouri. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Maryland, Ohio and Missouri.

Johann Andreas Strassburger (b.1716) was the eldest son of Johann Ulrich Strassburger and his first wife, Maria Elizabetha Flücken. Johann Andreas emigrated in 1742 from the Palatinate of Germany to Philadelphia, and then returned to Germany to marry Catherina Rosina Kolb in 1751.
