Colden-Common is a chapelry in the parishes of Owslebury and Twyford.

Caldwallader Colden (1687-1776), of Scottish lineage, was born in Ireland, and lived in Philadelphia between 1710 and 1715. He returned to England and then Scotland, where he married Alice Christy in 1715. In 1716 they immigrated to Philadelphia and in 1718 moved to Ulster County, New York. He was a medical doctor, and was active in the political affairs of the colony.

Henry Colden Antill (1779-1852), son of John Antill (a British officer stationed in New York during the Revolutionary War, who married Margaret Colden of New York City), was born in New York City and later served with British forces in New Brunswick, Canada (where he had relatives). Edward Antill (ca.1659-1704) immigrated from England to New York City, and invested in greater New York City (including Staten Island) and in New Jersey. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, New England, Michigan, Wisconsin and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
