John Connolly, son of John Connolly and Susanna Howard (d. 1753), was born at Wright's Ferry, York County, Pennsylvania in about 1743. He married Susanna Semple. He died in 1813 in Montreal, Quebec. He was imprisoned for Loyalist activities.

He married Minnie Baylis and they had 8 children. Information on their descendants many of whom still live in California and other western states is given in this volume.

In 1865, John Kreutter (1844-1926), his sister, Anna (1852- ) and their younger brother, Albert immigrated from Wurtemberg, Germany to America. Albert settled in Minnesota, while Anna went to Iowa. John married Salomea Widmer in 1865, and after about two years in New York, they moved to Decorah and then to Nodaway, Iowa where both of them died.

David Brown was born 30 May 1801, presumably in Aquebogue, Long Island, New York. He was the son of William Brown and Phebe Corwin. David married Emiline Hatch 30 November 1826 in New York City.
