Joseph David Coppock was born February 10, 1909 in Peru, Indiana. His parents were Donald Morton Coppock and Indiana Madge Oates. He married Esther Elizabeth McKenzie (1915-1984) August 1, 1940 in Denver, Colorado. Her parents were Leslie Howard McKinzie and Florence Sarah Schmolsmire. Joseph and Esther had four children. Ancestors and relatives lived in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, California and elsewhere.

William Henry Terry (1828-1878) born near Snow Camp, Chatham Co., was the only son of John W. Terry and Sarah Crutchfield. He married Jemima Norwood and lived in North Carolina all of his life. They were the parents of 11 children. He fought and was wounded in the Battle of Gettysburg and died later in 1878 at his home near Snow Camp. Descendants lived primarily in North Carolina, Virginia and Illinois.
