Joseph Huffman Higdon (1838-1909) was the son of Major William Huffman Higdon and his wife, Jane Buchanan. In 1865, when his father came home from the Civil War, Joseph and Margaret Matilda Berry (1847- 1941) were married. They had 10 children.
