Cornelius Cursonwhit was born between 1640 and 1660, and died in or after 1710. He was probably of Dutch descent. He married Hannah Hobbs ca. 1685, and they lived in New Hampshire. They had two children. Spelling of the surname varies; the Dutch diminuitive suffix "whit" was dropped by most descendants, many of whom spell their name Corson or Colson. Descendants lived mostly in New England.
