David Tafelmeyer was born in 1639 in Oberlenningen, Germany. He married Anna Maria Bauer in 1664. They had fourteen children. Their grandson, Johannes, son of Andreas (1673-1739), was born 15 June 1709. He emigrated in 1732 and settled in Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa and Michigan.

The veterans headstone placed " ... on his gravesite at Indian Mills in Summers County "--P.3. in the government cemetery list his birth and death dates as 1740 to 1815. Chiefly, a record of descendants of Edmond/Edward Elliot Wray who was born in Virginia ca. 1770-1775. He married Elizabeth Amos in Cabell County, West Virginia on April 24, 1814.
