The first two-thirds of the book deal with the creation of the cemetery, its title deeds, incorporation, officers and trustees, by-laws and proceedings of the Underhill Society of America, and an ode to the memory of Captain John Underill. Arthur Nicholls was born in 1848 in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. His parents were Charles Nicholls and Sarah Sandford. He married Sarah Ann Stokes 3 May 1868 in Worcester. Arthur and his son, Charles, emigrated in 1881 and Sarah and their daughter, Lizzie, followed in 1882. They settled in Leeds, Utah. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Utah, Wyoming and California. .
