Valerie Ruth Barlow was born September 9, 1929 in Poole, Dorset, England. Her parents were Clarence Douglas Barlow (b. 1902) and Marjorie Alice Brooks (1902-1994). She married Herbert Lewis Brooking April 25, 1953. They had three children. In 1990 they retired and remained in their home in Shepperton, Middlesex. Caldwell Davis was born 6 September 1869 in Bronson, Kansas. His parents were Jonathan McMillan Davis (1837-1893) and Eve Holeman (1843-1917). He married Delia Belle Owens, daughter of John Carr Owens and Delia Ann McReynolds, 13 September 1891 in Beloit, Kansas. They had four children. Caldwell died 24 August 1936 in Fort Scott, Kansas. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa and Kansas.

Charles Horn was born in Germany in 1839. He came to America in 1859 and fought in the Civil War. In 1865 he married Theodora Gertum and they had seven children. Later the family lived in Chicago, St. Paul, and Baltimore before finally settling in Minnesota. Descendants now reside in Ohio, Idaho, Arizona, Iowa, and elsewhere in the United States.
Includes Horn, Gertum, Wilson, McClelland, Tanner, Crabb, Thamke, and related families.

In 1852 John visited the gold fields in Bendigo, but returned to S.A. to settle in Clare, where he became the first blacksmith.
