John Sloneker (1777-1814) was born in Switzerland near LaChaux de Foads. He married Fanny Lichty and after his death, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1824, eventually settling in Butler County, Ohio. Their son, John (1809-1905), married Barbara Schlatter (1810-1896). She was the daughter of John Schlatter and Catherine Ramseyer who immigrated to Ohio in 1832 from Switzerland. Descendants lived in Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, and elsewhere.
