Jesse Gaines Crecelius (1815-1900) was born in Washington Co., Tennessee to Mary Polly Zubrotin Crecelius, daughter of John Godhard Crecelius. He married Drusilla Turner (1819-1895) 1838 in Scott County, Mississippi. They had nine children. Descendants live in Mississippi, Texas and elsewhere. Johann Philipp Christian Creckelius was born in Germany in 1768. He married Marie Elizabeth Kuh and they had seven children. Four of their seven children came to America and settled in Missouri. A grandson later also immigrated to Kansas. Information on the descendants of these individuals who continue to live in the midwest is given in this volume.

Johann Wilhelm Crecklius was born in Germany in 1762. He married Elisabeth Margaretha Reichel. They had four children, but only sons reached adulthood. These men brought their families to America settling in St. Louis, Missouri. Information concerning their descendants who now live throughout the midwest is given in this volume.

Rudolph Isaac Criscillis was born in Maryland in 1772. He married Elizabeth Bible and they had six children. She had come from Tennessee to Kentucky where they lived for the rest of their lives. Information on many of their descendants is given in this volume. Descendants still reside in Kentucky, Texas, and elsewhere.

Stephen Golden (1766/7-1855) married Hanna Helms. He was a descendant of Richard Golden (ca. 1750) who immigrated from Ireland to North Carolina early enough to have served in the Revolutionary War. The family migrated to Virginia, Tennessee and settled in Kentucky. Relatives and descendants scattered throughout the United States.

Henry Cline Crecelius was born in about 1797 in Tyrrell County, North Carolina. His parents were John Godhard Crecelius and Elizabeth Ann Ausmus. He married Laura Hines Sharp in 1824 in Harrison County, Indiana. They had twelve children. The family moved to Meade County, Kentucky in about 1831. Descendants and relatives lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Texas, Georgia and elsewhere.

Mabel Gilbert was born 4 March 1797-1870 in Tennessee. His parents were William Gilbert and Nancy Morris. He married Charity Morris (1801-1854) in about 1819. They had twelve children. He married Rachel Gibbs Albright Freeman in 1855. They had eight children. He died in 1870 in Wichita County, Texas.

Joseph Belk was born 25 February 1794 in South Carolina. He was the son of William Alexander Belk and Hannah Darling. He married Margaret McCann in about 1816 and they had ten children. Joseph died in 1867 in Marion County, Georgia. Descendants and relatives lived in Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, California, Colorado and elsewhere.

John George Heymann, son of Johann Wilhelm Heymann and Katharina Dorothea Holzer, was born in 1795 in Kaltenholzhausen, Nassau, Germany. He married Maria Margareta Oppermann, daughter of Johann Wilhelm Oppermann, in 1818. They had ten children. They emigrated in 1848 and settled in Ohio. He died in 1881 in Lyme Township, Huron County, Ohio. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany and Ohio.

Pedigrees of families related to the Heymanns of Kaltenholzhausen, Hessen-Nassau, Germany, which emigrated to Ohio during the mid-19th century. Most lived in the vicinity of Wiesbaden. Family data is from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. Two of the children of Johann Wilhelm Heymann (1761-1836) and Katherina Dorothea Hölzer (1776-1823) settled in Huron co., Ohio. Emphasis is on the German ancestry, not on their American descendants.
