Nicolaus Heinrich Crist was born in 1716 in Germany. His parents were Johanne Jorge Nichlas Crist (1690-1750) and Anna Elizabeth Mueller (1695-1750). He emigrated in 1738 and settled in Virginia. He married Ana Catherin Nowlin (1720-1783), daughter of John Henry Nowlin and Ana Elizabeth Tillman, 25 January 1739. They had seven children. Wesley Ferguson (1854-1896) married Mary Louisa Ames (1856-1913) in 1879 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. Wesley farmed in Indiana all his life, excepting 1888 when he attempted unsuccessfully to raise sheep in South Dakota.
