Robert Jordan was baptized 12 January 1611 in Worcester, England. His parents were Edward Jordan and Elizabeth Broughton. He married Sarah Winter, daughter of John Winter and Joane Boaden, in January 1643/44 on Richmond Island, Cumberland, Maine. They had six children. He died 28 July 1679 in New Castle, New Hampshire. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota and California.

Kenelm Winslow (1599-1672), son of Edward Winslow and Magdalene Ollyver, immigrated in 1639 from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts with his brother Josiah. Kenelm married widow Eleanor Adams in 1634, and moved to Marshfield, Massachusetts in 1641. Coonrod Poyle or Pile (1766-1849) was born in Germany and immigrated to America after the American Revolution settling first in North Carolina and then in Tennessee by 1791. He was the father of at least eleven children. His numerous descendants live in Tennessee and throughout the United States and include such well known figures as World War II reporter Ernie Pyle and World War I hero, Sargeant Alvin C. York.
