Johann Jacob Tritsch was born in 1719 at Fränkisch-Crumbach, Hessen, the son of Johann Henrich Tritsch (1678-1748), a Hessian masterweaver. He and his wife, Anna Elisabetha, joined a number of Palatinates bound for America in 1751, and settled finally in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. They had four children, 1751-1762. He died in 1810. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and elsewhere.
