John Durand was born in 1667 in La Rochelle, France. He married Elizabeth Bryan, daughter of Richard Bryan and Mary Wilmot, in 1698 in Derby, Connecticut. They had eleven children. He died in 1727. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Vermont.
