Description
Judah Crowell (1703-1771) was born in Chatham, Massachusetts to Thomas Crowell and Elizabeth Jones. Judah married Tabitha Nickerson and they were the parents of Eleazar Crowell. Eleazar married twice and was the father of at least three children. His numerous descendants live throughout the United States.

Yelverton Crowel died in 1683. His wife, Elizabeth, married Samuel Matthews. Yelverton and Elizabeth had at least four children. John, Edward, Samuel and Thomas. John (1642-1732) and Hannah had seven children. Edward and Mary Lothrop had seven children. Samuel and Hannah had one daughter, Hannah. He died in 1723. Thomas married Deborah. They had 10 children before she died in 1723.

The name was found in early Suffolk records as Crowes, Crowe, Croell, and Crowell. Samuel and Yelverton lived in Yarmouth as early as 1669. John Crowe came to America in 1635. He and his wife, Elishua removed from Charlestown to the Old Colony. He died in "72" [1672]. Three of their sons were John, Thomas and Samuel. Moses probably died young. Judah is a possibity. By 1842, descendants had migrated as far west as Ohio.
