Thomas English Daniels, son of James Ephraim Daniels (1792-1840) and Elizabeth Salthouse, was born in 1829 in Manchester, England. He emigrated with his family in 1841 and settled in Illinois. They migrated to Utah in 1850 and settled in Payson, Utah. He married Jane Ann Sheffield in 1855 and they had ten children. He married Annie Olsen (or Nielson) in 1864 and they had three children.
