John "Richmond" Combs, son of Archdale Combs and Elizabeth Butler, was born in 1662 in Virginia. He married Hannah Mason, daughter of Josiah Mason, in 1677 in Crittenden, Kentucky. They had two children. He married Ann in 1705 in Caroline County, Virginia. They had seven children. He died in 1717 in Richmond County, Virginia.
