John Joachim Stock (1827-1881) immigrated from Germany to Joliet, Illinois, and married Barbara Mettler (a Swiss immigrant) in 1871. Descendants and relatives lived in Illinois, Ohio, New York, California and elsewhere. Some descendants became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and lived in Utah and elsewhere.
