John Dale (Deal or Dial) (d. 1708) came to America from "near Londonderry, Ireland sometime between 1683 and 1686" and settled in Somerset County, Maryland. He married Katherine Fletcher before 1689. Descendants lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.

Sebron Sylvester Dale, a descendant of Nicholas Dale who immigrated from England to Virginia in 1624, was born in 1862 in Harrison County, Mississippi, and married Amanda Williams in 1882. The couple settled in Harrison County, and later in Prentiss, Mississippi. Includes Dale, Jackson, Culpepper, Longino, Ramsey, Williams, Griffith, Deal and related families.
