Mathias Deck was born about 1699 in Germany and came to America in 1736. Family tradition says he is the immigrant ancestor of the Deck family of Pennsylvania but it has not yet been documented. Documents and correspondence concerning his life and descendants are the substance of this collection.

Florence Jensen was born in Utah in 1919. Her parents were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her mother died when she was a child and she had a difficult childhood. She married William Deck and they were the parents of three children. During her life she lived in Arizona, Utah, Washington, Nevada, and California. Information on her life and that of her descendants is given in this volume.

Description
Zachariah Robertson was born in 1760 in Maryland. He married Mary Smith in 1786 in Frederick County, Maryland. They had nine children. Mary died in about 1809. He married Elizabeth Jones (1792-1838) in about 1810. They had ten children. He died in 1839 in Newell Township, Vermilion County, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky and Illinois.

Jacob Sierer (1713-1785) and his family emigrated in 1743 from Alsace in Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia. Jacob settled in Bethel Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and married four times (three times in Pennsylvania). Two of his sons, John and George, served in the Recolutionary War. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Idaho, Washington, Hawaii, Alaska, California and elsewhere.
