Joel Stribling (1667-1718) was born in King County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina and elsewhere.

Ancestors of John Dendy Evershed (b. 1911), the son of John James Evershed (1860-1958) and Dorothy M. Bevan (1878-1970) of Goldalming, Surrey, England. He is a descendant of an ancient English family whose seat was located at Ockley, Surrey. Eversheds were also located at Streele, Pallingham, Billingshurst, Newdigate, Chaffolds, Honey Lane and Rudgwick. The earliest known ancestor was Thomas Evershed (ca. 1215).

The William Dendy family, of Scottish lineage, immigrated to Halifax Co., Virginia in the 1750s.

John Hammond Morris was born in 1826 in Howard County, Missouri. His parents were Shadrack Morris and Rebecca Tevis. He married Susan Frances Dallas, daughter of Joshua Dallas and Mary Woods, in about 1846. They had seven children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri and Texas.
