Ruth Leila Kempe was born 29 July 1880 in Richfield, Utah. Her parents were Christopher J. Kempe and Ann Dorothea Johnson. She married Abel Alexander DeWitt 11 October 1911 in Mesa, Arizona. They had six children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Arizona and California.

Margaret McDonald, daughter of John and Mary McDonald, was born in 1824 in New York City. She later married Harvey John Hicks who was born in Georgia ca. 1814 and had moved to Lamar County, Texas. Several years later, Margaret and her children moved to Arkansas. Descendants lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, California, Texas, and elsewhere.

Abel Alexander DeWitt was born 1 October 1865 in Big Cottonwood, Utah. His parents were Abel Alexander DeWitt (1826-1913) and Margaret Miller Watson (1841-1930). He married Ruth Leila Kempe (1880-1943), daughter of Christopher Jensen Kempe (1837-1901) and Anne Dorthea Jonsdatter (1837-1907) in 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Kentucky and Utah.

Tjerck Claessen DeWitt immigrated from The Netherlands to New Amsterdam, New York, and married Barbara Andriessen in 1656, later moving to Albany and then Kingston, New York. Moses DeWitt (1766- 1794) was a direct descendant, a major in the militia, and a judge of the county courts of Onondaga County, New York. Descendants and relatives listed lived chiefly in New York.

Jacob Vulgamott was born in about 1788 in Virginia. He married Catherine DeWitt 27 August 1812 in Guernsey County, Ohio. They had five or six children. He died in 1850 in Licking County, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa and Colorado.

Moyse Quantin and his family, Huguenots, fled from France (via England) to New York City (his wife and the child died on the voyage) after 1685. He moved to Kingston, New York in 1687, and in 1691 married Elizabeth Deyo LeFevre. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Cantine) lived in New York, Illinois, Florida and elsewhere.
