Johann Conrad Dieffenbach (1659-1738) married twice and immigrated (with his family and mother) in 1710 from Germany to Livingston Manor, New York in 1710, moving in 1712 to Schoharie, New York and in 1723 to Tulpehocken, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in Germany to about 1560.

Elam N. Burkholder was born (likely in Pennsylvania) 14 August 1883. He was the son of Levi W. Burkholder and a descendant of Christian Burkholder who immigrated to America in 1754. Elam married Anna W. Martin 5 October 1905. They lived in East Earl, Pennsylvania and were the parents of ten children. Elam died 18 November 1942 in New Holland, Rhode Island. Descendants lived primarily in Pennsylvania, Colorado and elsewhere.

John Shupe (1762?-1812), the grandson of Palatinate immigrants to Pennsylvania, married Elizabeth Diefenbach. In 1801 they relocated to land near Kitchener, Waterloo County, Ontario. Their descendants and relatives lived in Ontario, Alberta and elsewhere in Canada. Other descendants immigrated to Michigan, Wisconsin, California and elsewhere in the United States.
