Description
Philip Harvey Diehl was born in Nortems, northern Germany, 27 December 1811. He emigrated to America when he was 27 years old and settled in Indiana. He married Temperance Nale, daughter of David Nale and Mary Elexson Nale, in 1841. He died 19 April 1898 near South Boston, eight miles east of Salem, Indiana, and is buried at the cemetery at Blue River Baptis Church near Farabee Station. Descendants lived in Indiana, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Christian Meyer probably immigrated from Switzerland (via Amsterdam) to Philadelphia about 1700 and later settled in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He married Barbara in about 1704 and they had six children, Christian, Jacob, Samuel, Elizabeth, Anna and Barbara. He died in about 1751. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ontario and Illinois. .
