Valentine Saufley was born in 1728. He emigrated in 1746. He married Anna Maria Schneider 17 May 1748 in Philadelphia. They had six children. He married Catarina Heyl (1742-1814) and they had five children. Valentine died 6 February 1802 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri.

Jean Bertolet, son of Jean Bertolet, was born in the Chateau d' Oex in Switzerland, district of Bern. He later lived in Minfeld, Germany and was married to Susanna Harcourt.
