Rev. Tapley "Old Tap" Moody, a Methodist preacher, was born ca. 1772, the son of Lt. Col. Robert Moody, a Revolutionary soldier, and his wife, Esther. He and his wife, Susannah Herring, had twelve children, 1800-1834. The family lived in Marion County, South Carolina. He died in 1843. Descendants live in South Carolina and elsewhere.
